The “International Applause-Worthy Awards,” organized for the 13th time this year by the International Union of Radio Broadcasters (IRU), brought together prominent figures from media, business, education, culture, arts, and social responsibility in Istanbul.

According to Sümer Taşkıran from Sonsöz Newspaper, the organization, which honored individuals and institutions that add value to society, was held with broad participation. At the ceremony held on May 18, 2026, at the Kazlıçeşme Culture and Arts Center in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, many names from the worlds of art, media, sports, politics, and business were deemed worthy of awards.

IRU President Yusuf Erbaş, in his speech at the ceremony, stated that the main purpose of the award organization was to “make visible those who add value to society,” emphasizing the importance of applauding success and social benefit in an era where criticism is easy.
